I set within

the shadows

Listening to

the falling

rain

It’s ever

changing

rhythm

The tempo

rising

and

lowering

Throughout

the night

it played on

An original

concerto

It’s first

and last

it’s only

performance

Lost to a world

racing on ward

Towards oblivion

grasping at things

Of fleeting

pleasures

in stoopered

states

Missing

a simple

moment

That lasts

a lifetime
