A Poet's Haven

As I await her awakening 

I relish within the placidity of my thoughts 

the immense beauty that lies hidden  

in anticipation of the awakening

of each of her petals

the intoxicating nature of her scent

the immense beauty that lies hidden  

bathing in her pollen 

immersed in her nectar

I relish within the placidity of my thoughts

at the beauty that lies before my eyes 

hidden behind sheets as the rise 

and fall with each breath 

in anticipation of 

those eyes 

those lips 

her angelic face

alas I am not a drone 

in service to a Queen 

I shall never see, 

never know 

lost to the placidity of thought
