A Poet's Haven

No sooner than my eyes closed.
I found her, homing in on the last words from her lips,
as she drifted off to sleep and whispered into the wind.
Knowing that the very sound of every beat of her heart,
is forever linked to mine.
A gentle kiss upon her cheek, as she murmured “ you’re here”
“shush my Darling, you need your rest”
“ sleep and let me caress every inch of your heavenly body”
I found myself gently massaging, my hands touching the silky
softness of her skin as I breathe in my eternal addiction.
The mild touch of my lips upon her more precious places.
Evoked a gentle stirring with sighs as deep breaths flowed from her lips.
The coldness that comes with the approaching dawn, spoke to me.
Telling me it was time for me to return to the other side.
Another kiss upon her cheek, as I whispered.
“I love you”.
“no don’t leave me”
Echoed from her lips and pulled upon my heart strings.
One last kiss upon her lips.
As I whisper.
“I will be with you always, now sleep my beautiful Darling,
you need your rest”
As I began my journey back to the other side, I heard her smile,
I always do.
It precedes and follows, her “I love you”
