All Most Forgotten

As I stood at the one window I seem to live in front of…
It’s where I care for my plants, it’s sill full of new plants…
It started to rain as darkness approached…
And has not stopped, even though it is late morning…
I noticed the leaves still upon the trees…
They moved with each rain drop…
One leaf at a time…
The branches frozen in time…
Only the leaves move as if it were a key board…
Those still green move as if dancing in the rain,,,
My memories flood in, of the two of us in the rain…
Be it dancing or kissing with long hugs…
In the other trees with the yard stand almost still…
Yellows and orange, some in fading green…
I went to the door, opening it a crack so I could listen…
A concerto of falling rain drops.
From each tree a different tone of memories…
Leaves and branches so filled by rain…
They sag so low I could not walk under them…
Not a bird in sight…
I often wonder where they go on rainy days…
And do they have memories of playing in the rain…
As one almost forgotten memory emerged…
